We sadly bid farewell to Markus Huppenbauer, who passed away completely unexpected. He was involved at the Risk Dialogue Foundation as an expert on topics such as ethics, decision-making and religion and business. As Director of the ZRWP at the University of Zurich, Markus leaves behind a scientific centre that he strongly helped to shape. His passion were social ethical issues in the context of religion and society, always with the conviction that religion is one of the main drivers of human behaviour. He will also be missed in his roles as a board member of the Swiss Excellence Forum and as a speaker on the Swiss Ethics Award jury.

With his far-sightedness, Markus Huppenbauer has made extremely valuable contributions to the Risk Dialogue Foundation. Thinking outside the box – that was one of Markus Huppenbauer’s many strengths. We will honour his memory and express our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Thank you for everything, Markus!
